I'm pretty sure Bill was referring to the change in pitch
standards over a couple of centuries, not merely its present
convention. And for the record, my experience is that clar-
inetists in general are among the most naturally sarcastic
people in the world. What exactly makes you relatively more
qualified to teach it (as I demonstrate how sarcastic a clar-
inet player can be)...?
