This topic comes up every now & then, the ol'
string-down-the-bore-to-lower-the-pitch-trick.
So one end sticks out the bell. Where does
the upper end come out? A tone hole? A gap
between the upper joint and the barrel? A
gap between the barrel and the mouthpiece?
Is it simply pinched inside the clarinet
at one of these junction points?
