How long do professional applicants get to play without interruption? I
haven't auditioned for anything since high school, but I remember that
generally at student competitions and seat-jumps, on the rare occasions
where we got to play music of our own choice, the director (or the
chairperson of the committee) would look at the score, say, "start at
measure such-and-such," then cut off most people with a crisp "Thank you,"
after about two minutes. The serious contenders got maybe five minutes,
maximum. I wasted a lot of practice time on trying to scope out which five
minutes the director would demand! Lelia

Exposition of Mozart 9 out of 10 times, maybe 19 out of 20.
