Thank you! I have no A clarinet (yet...) and will be most interested to try
this trick. I think I'll also experiment with different diameters of cord to
try to bring an old High Pitch Bb clarinet down to Low Pitch. Has anyone
else tried this? I can't try it right away on the HP, because it needs
corks, pads and a professional repair on the cracked barrel. It's an old
"Carl Fischer" wooden Albert system. This clarinet isn't maked either HP or
LP. It's too long to be a C clarinet and significantly shorter than my LP
B-flats. Very curious to hear what it sounds like.
