Do you mean E in the top space (a fifth above throat A?). One I just worked
out through a little trial and error requires a bit of set-up time, but
works very simply. Finger E with the normal two right-hand fingers and move
the fingers of your left hand up one hole, covering the C/G hole with your
5th finger (the pinky - sorry, anyone who works with string instruments),
the hole above (D/A) with your next finger, and so forth, leaving your index
finger free. Then just open and close the A key with your index finger. The
A is a little muffled and not quite in tune, but should do.

The problem with the F to C tremolo comes from the register key's needing to
open and close quickly. On my instrument, I can get a passable (though flat)
C by pressing the A key and the top 2 right-hand side keys (like a Bb to C
trill). This works pretty well even with the thumb F hole covered, so you
just need to coordinate your two index fingers and keep your thumb on F.
It's better in tune if you can get to the register key when you play the C,
but then you have the same problem with having to rock your thumb back and
forth that you have with the normal fingering.

For what they're worth...
