There's a book called "The Acoustics of Musical Instruments" around - I
can't find my copy right now and I can't remember who it's by,
unfortunately! There's a bit about acoustics in Jack Brymer's book
"Clarinet" as well. Try "Clarinet Acoustics" by O. Lee Gibson, "The Physics
of Musical Instruments by Neville H. Fletcher, "The Science of Musical
Sound" by John Pierce, "Introduction to the physics and psychophysics of
music" by Juan G. Roederer, "Musical acoustics : piano and wind instruments"
edited by Earle L. Kent, "Fundamentals of musical acoustics" by Arthur H.
Benade, "Introduction to the physics and psychophysics of music" by Juan
Roederer, "The acoustical foundations of music" by John Backus, "Music,
physics and engineering" by Harry F. Olson and "The physics of musical
sound" by Jess J. Josephs. This is pretty much a bibliography of the books
my brother used for a calculus project on musical acoustics - some of these
books are more complex than others.
