The autograph of the Weber Duo Concertante
is now in the Library of Congress, Washington.
In the clarinet part, measures 13 and 14 of the
third movement are (should be) the same.

Subject: Re: [donax-m] Lip and cheek gymnasium

I have found the following exersize helpful: Blow up your cheeks full
of air,
and then with the cheek muscles, push the air out. This will help with
the
control of the "ROUND" embrashure, and I get a full, mellow tone ( I
know, how
do you define that?). The other thing that I do, and I hope that it is
not
against the law, is that I have a fife, a flute with no keys, silver
plated, and
when I'm first at a red light, I play a tone, or a short tune until the
light
turns green. Then I set it on the seat next to me and zoom off.
Learning the
fife helps me to focus on problems that my clarinet students might get
into, and
helps me to control better the airstream.
