Mitch,

The last time I played "Guys and Dolls," they tried to get the new and refreshing
arrangements of the "Guys and Dolls" revival. No deal. Rights don't seem to be set
up the same as the arrangements made between the rental houses and the owners of
the original material.

Sometimes too, and I realize this probably doesn't apply to your question, the
product that is put out on record or CD isn't the same as what you end up getting
in the pit, as they do cut down versions on the road.

Once when I played "Secret Garden" I was looking forward to the bassoon that I had
heard on the CD. There was no bassoon to be found in any of the woodwind parts we
got.

Sometimes, if you write the house that is renting the parts, or call them, they
will give you a full breakdown on exactly what is in every book. This might take a
little detective work, though.
