I actually use one, at the moment, being unable to use the school's Morgan
(since I'm hardly playing bass anymore, the principal in Sym. Winds gets
it.)

My crystal is a Vandoren A2 or A3 (my memory is bad in the morning, eh?)
and it's good, with average volume. More importantly, it plays better
than the Hite I started with (which was a fine mouthpiece in itself,
better than most stock bass mpcs), but still not quite as good as the
Morgan D, which I find has a MUCH richer, deeper tone. Not to mention
TONS OF VOLUME POTENTIAL.

(It was also with the Morgan that I learned to overblow my throat tones
into altissimo. ^_^)

Having been the only crystal mouthpiece on bass I've played, I find it
hard to make a real comparison - I can only say "good, but not the best",
at least for me.
