I only heard the performance on the local NPR station, but last season, the
Nashville Symphony played Brahms First. Brahms lost. (Pardon the stolen
pun.) While I wouldn't have actually booed, I certainly wouldn't have
applauded. It was, without doubt, the strangest interpretation. Truly
bizare tempo changes like I have never heard before.

I had reason to be thankful that the people, when I was at university,
didn't take up booing. During a recital, my Ab key fell off, just as I was
ready to start the Weber Concertino. The guests patiently waited until I
went off-stage, reinserted the screw, and went back to play. (No, I have
no idea how the screw came loose. I've been accused of having a screw
loose before, but not on the clarinet. <g>)
