Subj: [kl] Finale Bug
Date: Wed, 27 Oct 1999 09:27:24 -0400

For those of you who are using Finale 2000 for Windows, I've found a small
bug I want to let you know about (if it hasn't already hit you). If you
close Finale 2000 from a minimized icon on the task bar, you may not be able
to get it to start in a window at all the next time you boot it up. The
splash screen will appear, but no work window, and no amount of clicking or
double clicking anywhere will bring a window up. This doesn't seem to happen
if you close Finale from a window or a full-screen session, only when it's
minimized (and you right-click the icon, then click <close> from the menu).
The work-around is, obviously, don't close it from the task bar. Always
close it from an open window. The other way to eliminate the problem for now
is to go (with Finale 2000 open) to Options/Program Options and uncheck
"Load Window States At Startup." If you've already been bitten, the way to
get the program to boot correctly is to open Finale.ini and change
"LoadWinPos@-----. This has the same effect as unchecking the
option in the Program Options menu. Again, this only concerns Windows Finale
2000.

When I emailed Coda about this, they said they were aware of the problem and
are working on it.
