Hi Ulrich,

I'm also a Boehm- (and Oehler-) clarinettist and saxophonist living in
Germany
(Kandern), born and raised in the US.

The "Registerklappe" can be called register key or speaker key. Going
from the
German, you'd think you could also call it "12th key" or "overblowing
key" but I
don't remember ever hearing those terms. Yes, interval is the correct
term. The
intervals are much easier in English (prime, second, third, fourth,
fifth, etc.
just add "th" - no Latin involved like in German)

Parts of the clarinet: Mouthpiece (with reed and ligature or string),
barrel,
upper joint (left-hand joint), lower joint (r-h.j.), bell. Try getting
ahold of
a copy of "Learn as you Play Clarinet" by Peter Wastall publ. by Boosey
&
Hawkes. The terms are all in there. For musical terms, I recommend
Roberto
Braccini's Praktisches Woerterbuch der Musik (Ital., Engl., German,
French)
ISBN 3-7957-8279-1 (Schott) or 3-492-18279-8 (Piper)
