It is possible the idea came from the edition of Opus 115
for violin and piano issued by Simrock in 1892
(The date is on the edition). The arranger was
Paul Klengel (1854 -1935) pianist, violinist and composer.
However Pamela Weston's edition (Fentone, 1974)
is completely different. Pamela maintains the clarinet part intact
whereas Klengel distributes the clarinet and first violin parts
between the violin and piano.

The catalogue of Pamela's editions produced by Fentone lists her edition as
F105
