The one big feature I'm finding useful and (for me) worth the price is
Fin2000's ability to read MidiScan .mnd files directly into a Finale .mus
file. Be aware, though, that it DOESN'T read SmartScore .enf format. The
other immediately noticeable improvement is that you don't need to feed it
the original CD after you've installed it. They've eliminated that piece of
security and replaced it, they say, with newer unspecified technology. There
are a lot of other conveniences that you may or may not find "warrant
writing a new cheque." I like it. As usual with Finale, of course, new files
written in Fin2000 can't be read by earlier versions (although there is a
trick using .etf I learned on another mailing list to make much of the data
readable by earlier versions).
