Renaldo was an opera by GF Handel. I think the movie you are referring to is
"Farinelli", based on the life of Carlo Broschi (1705-1782), stage name
Farinelli, a very famous castrato of the period, more associated with Nicola
Porpora, a rival of Handel. You should be able to find some web sights by
searching on Farinelli. Encyclopedia Britannica has an OK synopsis of his
life.
