Even if it's not covered by the warrantee, have it pinned by a first
class repair tech. Usually it works as well as new, and I've had repair
techs tell me they play better because the tension in the wood has been
"released". I view this with a little suspicion, but I have a very nice
clarinet which I played professionally for several years with a major
crack in the upper joint (repaired, of course).
