On the bass, I find the Legere to be very unbright (what's the opposite
of bright ?
dim? stupid??). In fact when I switch back to cane, the tone of the
genuine, natural
cane reed seems funny and bright.
It takes a few minutes of playing for me to readjust embouchure, oral
cavities, attitude
or whatevever to make it sound like I think a bass clarinet should
sound.

By far the best aspect of the Legere is the no warmup. When practicing,
I stick some cane reeds
in water and play on the Legere while waiting for them to get wet enough
to be playable.
