and in addition to creating your own mini-breaks in rehearsal...

i have found that double lip long tones (i play single lip) are a great
way to keep embouchure strength up when practice time is limited, or when
building up endurance. 5-10 minutes double lip is equivalent to 30/40
minutes of 'regular' playing time. pppp then ffffff each register.
