Can anyone suggest a bass clarinet with orchestra work?

My search on the net has drawn a blank...I suspect this is because you
probably have to mike a bass clarinet to play with anything more than two
[very quiet] flutes. :-)

[Any suggestions will be much appreciated. The university symphony in which
I am a "community" member is having auditions next month for soloists. I'm
contemplating a bari sax w/orchestra thingy but...after all...the bari is
virtually an unknown instrument in that "environment." ;-)]
