I actually own one of these and used it from 1995 to the very recent past
for all my C clarinet orchestral work. The demand on me for C clarinet work
has become great enough that I recently invested in a "real" C clarinet. My
Lyons C served me well, but I have to admit that it took some getting used
to in order to play it well. It's been a great conversation piece. I've
used it in orchestra, for chamber work and in the pit (where everyone wants
to play with it!). I bought it directly from Graham Lyons when I was in
England and he was most kind about helping me adjust to it. He even sent
extra pads for replacment and a few extra reeds. I always used it with it's
own mouthpiece (a regular Eb mouthpiece is too large) and made reeds to fit
from standard Eb reeds. The case it comes in is a plastic tube. I will
always hold great affection for it - it's wonderful fun in the shower!
