Mark, I was talking about the "barely out the door" 1193-3...It's a very
interesting piece of equipment...I played a few recently and I am definatley
considering that model as an option for purchase. It has three fingerings
for low D (the extended one) and the key action was very very very smooth.
It has a resonance opening on the bell and it almost looks as if a key is
missing...I was told this was to help the resonance of the low C extension.
The throat tones were consistently in tune and very focused as well. I
really kind of liked it. But the Selmers just feel so much freer to me...so
I was curious to see what other people thought. -Andrea F. Caccese
