Please allow me to disagree. Charlie's playing in this piece is superb--and
EXACTLY in line, I think, with the composer's intention.

The "Rossini" theme & variations is not a deep piece of music. It's not
even a shallow piece of music, IMHO. What it is is a vehicle to show off
technique--much like one of the Paganini Caprices for our violinist friends.
It's designed to be fun, which it certainly is when Charlie plays the $#=#$&
out of it.
