Don't use almond oil!!!!!!

After all my hard work to bring out the grain I used sweet almond oil and to
my shock the grain disappeared and the black reappeared.

It was suggested I use a mixture of linseed oil and turpentine. However my
courage ran out at this stage and I stuck to the old formulae.

Not that the end product isn't a great improvement on what I had, just not
the result intended.

Cheers

Please don't apologise ! I was fascinated by your information. I have a
simple system clarinet that I bought from eBay for the specific purpose of
"taking it apart to see how it works". I had cleaned the wood and bought
some
almond oil before I even read your message.

So, thank you, for all the details.

Smiles,
Diz
