Reeds or cane kept in a refrigerator will last almost indefinitely, will
not deteriorate with age, and will maintain stability of playing
characteristics. A small, apartment-sized refrigerator in one's music
studio can work wonders, as the temperature and humidity in the
refrigerator is fairly constant.
