G'day all,
I'm wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions. At present I am
playing on a Vandoren 5RV lyre using Marca #4 's (changed from Vandoren #4's
I found they were consistantly too soft!). I adore the mouthpiece, love the
sound however I am finding that especially in the band I am so unbelievably
sharp all the time. The barrell has to be pulled out so far that the tuning
in the throat notesare effected and to pull the instrument (a Buffet R13
Prestige) apart in the middle and the bell is effecting other notes. The
band is tuning to A 440 (from the Oboe). Any suggestions as to what
mouthpieces I might try to bring my pitch down, Even if it is only for band
use.
