Ed,
Actually Easy Steps to the Band is still in print and used, at least in this
area (Stafford County, Northern Virginia). Also, I believe that Master
series is also still in print as well. Is it the one that has books
entitled, "Master Theory" and the like?
I agree that kids can leave Easy Steps and still not know how to play. But
that is true of just about any method. Some are simply worse than others.
And that is how I get the kids, when they get frustrated enough to realize
it's going to take more than 1/2 hour in class a day to really learn how to
play an instrument to any decent level .
