One of my students brought me their'new'old clarinet purchased at an
antique shop....an August Buffet wood instrument,no serial #, made in
France. This clar with mpc is approx. 5/8 to 3/4 of an inch shorter than
my old Buffet Bb. It has an adjustment screw at the throat A/G# and
current design keywork, so I presume cannot be that old. However this
horn plays way sharp and does not seem to relate as a Bb inst.Could this
be a "high pitch" as you sometimes find in old saxes? What size is a C
clarinet compared to a Bb? I assume shorter, but how much? It doesn"t
quite seem to pitch as a C inst.
Your help appreciated.
Thanks Dave G
