Dr. David McClune" <dmcclune@-----.edu> Subject: [kl] Double lip emb I
have a 10th grade high school student and yesterday, in her third lesson
with me, I discovered she uses a double lip embouchure. This is her 5th
year using it and is quite comfortable with it. Collected wisdom of the
List... Should I change her over to single lip, or help her master the
double lip. My feeling at the moment is to strengthen the double lip and
choose an appropriate mouthpiece reed combination which helps this. Let the
ideas flow! David Dr. David McClune Professor of Woodwinds/Director of
Bands Union University, Jackson, TN 38305

If she got through marching band playing double lipped, keep it. It is
probably quite strong by now.
