I use the Westphal, "Guide for Teaching Woodwinds" for a written text, edit
it quite a bit, and hand out lots of supplemental material, including a list
of websites that may be good. In addition, the instrumental department at
NMSU has adopted the policy of using the same band method for all of the
woodwind, brass, and percussion tech. classes. Currently, we have adopted
Bruce Pearson's "Standards of Excellence" which they will use in six
semesters of tech. classes. I also have the Summy Birchard softbound series
"The Art of Clarinet Playing, Flute Playing, etc." (the clarinet one is by
Keith Stein) as supplemental texts. Some of the students get those, some do
not and I also put it on reserve in the library.
