sore lips at intermediate or advance level of playing means wrong embouchure.
This is my opinion after long years of playing and teaching.
Try this warm -up:

Play the deep notes (c - e) as loud as possible without the tongue (think
Ha:, like HArlem, not Da:, a: like fAther). Then play Ha-da da-da (a:, like
fAther),
as loud as possible. Practise untill it works.
Try the same but a little bit higher and press the overblowing- key (I don't
know this word in english) but still blow the deep tones, as if you have not
pressed the thumb key. For further advice, and it really
works , I must find my dictonary.
