I'm looking for some performance advice on playing Simon Sargon's KlezMuzik.
In the long solo introduction, there's a prominent spot that calls for a
portamento from high B to high F. On the recording (Stephen Girko, clar.,
and Mr. Sargon, piano), Mr. Girko plays this beautifully. Any ideas on how
to do this? I've been using both LH and RH side keys to roughly approximate
it, but it's certainly not smooth. I'm placing this on a recital I'm doing
in January. I'd really appreciate anyone's advice here. TIA.
David Frank, Seattle.
