<<<Everytime I play, my bottom lip feels as if a hole is being punched
through and it hurts. How can I deal with or fix this?>>>

There have been a lot of flippant and/or helpful posts on this . . . let me
add mine. I have had a similar problem. It's not from "biting too hard";
I use relatively little pressure when I play, double lip much of the time.

I, too used the Ezo denture pad product because of a protruding lower tooth.
Than, after reading an article by Mazzeo in The Clarinet, I had my dentist
make me an appliance made out of silicone (I think) that covers my lower
teeth. No pain, good tone, great stuff.

Now I may be decried for relying on this "crutch." Fine -- flame away.
Many, many, many professional players I have met use a similar device. If
it helps, use it.

If you don't need one, count yourself lucky. God has graced you with teeth
that, if not straight, don't cut directly into your lip. Others are not so
fortunate.
