Have a heart, folks. Lots of people use something like denture wax,
cigarette paper, adhesive tape, or florist's tape on their lower teeth. I
knew one player who even had something his dentist had made. What's
important is that what comes out of the horn is of fine quality, not what's
in your mouth while you are making the sound. If having a mouth full of
marbles helps you sound wonderful, then fill your mouth with marbles!
Any time anyone on the list has ever heard me play (either live or on CD),
there has been a double thickness of adhesive tape on my lower teeth. My dad
was a dentist and offered to grind the pointed incisor down and smooth it
off, but I wouldn't let him do it. So I use tape.
