Hi, Dan -
I had to teach that course last year - we just switched to "Teaching
Woodwinds," William Dietz, general editor. He wrote the bassoon chapter,
Jerry Kirkbride did clarinet, Hal Ott flute, Mark Weiger oboe, and Craig
Whittaker saxophone. One major advantage of this text is that a significant
number of musical examples and exercises are included for each instrument, so
the students didn't have to buy additional method books. Publisher is
Schirmer Books - I had a phone number once, and will try to find it for you.
They were good about sending desk copies. However, I ended up supplementing
the clarinet portion of the course with stuff out of good ol' Westphal - very
dense text and hard to plow through, but loads of good information.
Good luck!
