I waited to see if anyone else would answer this one...

My best advice sounds rather flippant: Give him a call, take some lessons
and see how it works out. Every combination of student and teacher is
different, and while I work very well with Opperman, not everyone does.

His strength is a lifetime devoted to learning, teaching, and playing the
clarinet. He is a formidable resourse.

To study with him, however, you need to be patient and you need to listen...
