Subj: [kl] copland concerto interpretation

Hi list, I am thinking about doin the copland concerto for a competition
coming up, and i have a question. After the tempo picks up after the
Marcatissimo section, there is a a section marked "humorously". I recently
bought a recording of richard stoltzman playing this concerto, and he swings
the eighth notes in this section. I know Stoltzman interprets things pretty
loosely, but i am curious as to how you people feel about swinging the eights
in this part. I think that part of the piece is rather hokey, and swingin the
eights really seems to add some life to it. I am just wondering what you
people would say, if you were the judge.
Thanks
Andy Brown
