I don't remember reading about Da Vinci or Michaelangelo starving (although
they had some serious religious constraints put on their art - but what the
heck, religion was paying the bills!) and I remember many years back reading
a biography of Cellini (a master goldsmith whose work was/is highly
regarded) who was, to put it mildly, a rascal. He probably anchored one end
of the bell curve :^)
