greetings list!

has anyone out there had experience with gortex pads? their selling points
are that they don't buzz like skin pads and that they don't change with the
weather. i was wondering if they are difficult to seat and keep adjusted?
do they have any adverse effects on sound? can pad cups be heated with them
in? any other gortex pad idiosyncrasies experienced? are they the clarinet
equivalent to flute straubinger pads? lots of questions...
