Although the Ebony Concerto was written for Woody Herman, it was recorded by
Benny Goodman. Woody Herman was unable to record the piece because of the breakup
of his band. Goodman also recorded Bernsteins Prelude, Fugue and Riffs which was
written for Herman. These two pieces and the Copland Concerto and Morton Goulds
Derivations were recorded on one album "A Meeting at the Summit" with the
composers conducting.
The album was recorded in 1966 by Columbia records.
