I think the REAL problem here is that Dan subconsciously feels that his
heart attack was CAUSED by the Eastern Leeson Roadblock Society! I must
stress that this was NOT the case! Although we have been documented to
aggravate the digestive system and to induce synapses to snap, it has never
been clinically proven that we cause heart disease (this study was conducted
by the Tobacco Institute, so you KNOW the science is valid!).

As for the topic of the Lancaster talk, of COURSE the Texas revolution was
not caused by substandard reeds! We all know it was caused by MARCHING BAND
PRACTICE! Most people seem to forget this (probably because the immortal
rallying cry "Remember the Sousaphone!" has been misquoted to the point that
no one knows what it means!). I would be VERY interested to see how you
handle THAT aspect in your talk!

Well, I have to go. I have a rehearsal of my all-clarinet marching mariachi
band!

But Nancy, the Lancaster talk is NOT about Mozart and Mathematics. It
is
to the American Military History Society and the topic happens to be on
the Texas Revolution against Mexico in 1835. (I am not going to pose
the
hypothesis that the revolution was due to the inability of the Texas
settlers
to get good reeds!!)
