I second the previous suggestions of the Weber Concertino, and if you feel
up to it, the Mozart Rondo (which, I feel to be more challenging both in
technicality and musicality). If you REALLY feel up to it, then I second
the Rossini as well, but I didn't know it had been arranged for band
accomp yet.

Maybe when my band played the Rossini a couple years ago they had someone
arrange the band accomp. I wasn't in the performance as i was still in high
school.

(I have the Neidich recording of the Rossini...man, it just blows my
mind.)

I personally dislike show-off's such as Neidich. He distorts pieces so much
it gets on the verge of nausiating at times. Especially his recording of
the Rossini. He at times gets so caught up in showing off that his tone
becomes very unfocussed.

Also, an option to consider, is to play a duet with an equally
talented/experienced (or moreso) clarinetist. Perhaps your private
instructor might oblige you. There are two pieces that come to mind that
are written for clarinet duet and band, the first being Perpetual Motion,
but the composer has slipped my mind at the moment. As slipperier,
however is a piece called Il Convegno by A. Poncielli. Both are good
works that should be considered if the duet option is open to you.

While on the topic of duets with band, either of the Mendelsson
Concertstücke make nice performances. My teacher and a visiting professor
played, i believe it was the first one, several years ago with the concert
band.
