Subject: [kl] Which Clarinet

Dear List

first of all I would like to thank all the people of the list that have
responded to my posts. The response has been overwhelming and I am really
chuffed. (pleased, that is!)

Next, I would like to ask what clarinet you list people would recommend for
a price of £300 ($480). I would like a secondhand wooden clarinet with case.
Whats the best I could get for my money, and where? I don't mind paying
extra carriage from US, if it gets me the right instrument.

Cheers

Wendy Kirkland

Ah the joys of being two peoples separated by a common language.

Seriously though, in the US, you could find a good used intermediate level
instrument for this. If you are very lucky and very patient, you might be
able to get a used pro horn but it would probably need some maintenance at
this price.

Try to stick to the major brands. For intermediates, that would be Leblanc
Noblet series, the Buffet E series, plus the equivalent Yamahas and Selmers
(unfortunately I don't know the model designations for the latter two).
