One other thing. This kind of post really ANNOYS me. The assumption isthat a
competent clarinetist can just pick up a bass clarinet and perform a
difficult part satisfactorily.

instruments and, yes, I CAN play them! Should I not be considered a bass
clarinetist just because I don't own one?
To the original poster: Have you tried the Washington Music Center or other
music stores? I also am able to sometimes borrow instruments from local
schools.
