Find a true bass clarinet player....this part is important....it has several
bass clarinet solos.

Also, for what it's worth, I NEVER rent or loan my bass clarinet. It's too
easlly damaged or put out of adjustment. I even hesitate to put it in the
hands of any but the finest repairmen.

(This does not include Francois Kloc. Last spring he helped me with several
delicate adjustments.)

One other thing. This kind of post really ANNOYS me. The assumption is that a
competent clarinetist can just pick up a bass clarinet and perform a
difficult part satisfactorily.

I have friends and acquaintainces who have shelled out thousands of dollars
to purchase their own bass clarinets. Who have had custom mouthpieces made.
Who have studied the repertoire with great teachers. Why not look for one of
these persons, and have him/her play the Franck?
