I have been teaching a mature fellow for about 6 months or so now. He would
probably be in his 50's and had never touched a clarinet or any other
instrument before. I could not have asked for a better student!! Although we
have had to work on things like timing and the such, his sound is wonderful
and all thbe work I give him he practises every week without fail. He has a
real love for the instrument and for playing and (for me as a teacher the
most wonderful thing is) he listens to my advise and puts it into practice!!
I applaud all our elders who are willing to give anything like this; whether
it be music or art or writting a book or a university degree or whatever a
go.
