Greetings to all,
I just have to make one small comment:
I find males in tuxes elegant, professional and classy. However, call me
old fashioned, or something else, I still feel women should wear a floor
length dress, or a white shirt/black skirt ensemble, with perhaps a colored
velvet vest... Perhaps it is the fact that I spent nearly 14 years having
to perform dressed as a man, I don't know. I prefer dress for concerts to
be different for women than for men. The "uniform" look for both men and
women has been taken way too far in recent years. (Witness the ridiculous
look in fleet sailors' uniforms for both men and women; all fleet bands are
outfitted this way. The people in the D.C. and Naval Academy bands are
fortunate enough not to have to put up with this nonsense)
This has nothing to do with politics, but everything to do with the fact
that men and women are different and there is nothing wrong with admitting
to that truth, at least in choice of clothing.
Patty Smith
