I have heard several times on differnent posts references to ClarinetFest.
When and where is the next one and what is involved?

Also, I have a Selmer Series 9 clarinet that my parents bought for me in the
summer of 1967. It is still a great instrument but I have yet to find a
mouthpiece that I like. I read with interest the mouthpiece information given
but would would like to know more about the relationship of mouthpiece and
barrel. Wondering if that is my problem.

My mtpc jouney went from HS*, HS**, professional Hite (suggested by Louis
Paul, retired from the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra). I find the Hite
stuffy. I've tried the Morgans 10 and 6 but found little control. Without
having a Pyne made especially for me (which might be the next step) I tried a
Pyne that one of my former students had and found it very bright. The Portnoy
was not to my liking either. I use Vandoren V12s on my Hite with a Rovner
ligature and tho not the best, better than anything else.

As to student mouthpieces, I have found the Premier Hite to be the best with
an occasional Morgan 10 depending on the student and instrument.

Thanks to everyone for all the valuable info.
