Careful, now. Our band's "summer" uniform, for outdoor gigs, is black
pants and a royal blue polo shirts with the band logo on them. And I just
went to a Glenn Miller Orchestra concert the other week and they were
wearing, coincidentally, black pants and royal blue polo shirts with the
band logo on them! But, aside from that, I agree with you. Look at any
pictures of the big bands in the 30's and 40's. They were ALL wearing
matching suits with ties, and sometimes even TUXES. Even the Beatles
started out wearing matching suits. Sometime AFTER that it decayed into a
contest to see how sloppy you could be. Looking like you just came in from
doing yardwork seems to be quite popular! But it does show disrespect --
not just for the music, but for the AUDIENCE!

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is too loud.
