At 10:39 AM 9/6/99 -0700, Dan wrote, in part:
>the "Cassation Quartet," has been
>recorded at least twice as a Mozart composition, and is advertised
>as an authentic work. You may have played it. It is for four winds.

and I had it on my page for quite a while before someone on KLARINET
offered that
it was composed by Georg Lickl (as I recall our correspondent claimed that
the original
manuscript (autograph?) by Lickl had been found). You can download it and
listen to the
MIDI file if the urge strikes you -- look under Lickl, of course. I might add
that the oboe part of the last movement has some errors in it because the
manuscript
from which I sequenced the work was missing the last page of the oboe part
and I had
to make it up as I went along while listening to my own LP of the piece. I
missed
notes here and there when the oboe was playing softly under the other
winds. I would
be most grateful if anyone out there could send me a xeroxed copy of that
last page
so that I can make the necessary corrections.

Oliver
