I don't know if they really started making their own saxes THAT early, but
later Bundy saxes (post-Buescher acquisition) are basically the Buescher
design. In fact, the same line made both Buescher and Bundy saxes, the
difference being clear vs. gold lacquer, until the Buescher name was phased
out.

Production of Bundy clarinets has not yet stopped. They just CALL them
Selmer USA now. The Selmer 1401 is the Bundy 577 (.577 bore), and the 1400
is the old .590 Bundy. No change but the name badge.
